How to use it
- List risks with the people doing the work, one row each, written as cause, event and effect.
- Score probability and impact from 1 to 5; the score, rating band and EMV fill in by themselves.
- Give every high risk an owner, a response and a due date, and review the sheet every reporting period.
The full method, with a worked example, is in this article.
When a spreadsheet stops being enough
A spreadsheet works for one project and one person. Once several people update it, or you need the numbers on a dashboard, copies drift apart. Critova has the risk register with its 5×5 matrix, EMV and Monte Carlo schedule risk, shared by the whole team and free during the launch.
